In practice since 1999, Albert Marichal, AIA is a licensed architect, registered in New York and Texas.  He holds the NCARB Certificate for licensing reciprocity across the United States and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects.

Albert studied architecture and urban design at Harvard University, Columbia University, the University of Houston, and in Europe at Le Centre d’Etude d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme in Saintes, France.  In the tradition of the 'Grand Tour', he has nomadically travelled all over the world on a myriad of pilgrimages to gain first-hand experience in studying canonical works of architecture and urbanism.  A selection of his perpetual travels include: Boston, New York, Los Angles, San Francisco, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Miami, Mexico City, Monterrey, Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City; Panama City, Caracas, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu; London, Cambridge, Oxford, Bath, Paris, Marseilles, Bordeaux, Saintes, Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Lisbon, Porto, Rome, Naples, Florence, Venice, Zurich, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Lund, Helsinki, Jyvaskyla, Turku; Cairo, Luxor, Alexandria; Gaza, Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Seoul, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Ise, New Delhi, Ahmedabad.

Albert teaches architecture and urbanism at The University of Texas at Arlington. He has taught at Syracuse University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Boston Architectural College.  In addition, Albert has been an invited lecturer, symposium panelist, or guest critic at numerous universities including: Cornell University, Columbia University, New York Institute of Technology, Parsons, Rhode Island School of Design, Indiana University, University of New Mexico, Indiana University, Montana State University, Northeastern University, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of Texas at Austin, Harvard GSD (career discovery), Le Centre d’Etude d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme in Saintes, France and Lunds Universitet in Lund, Sweden.

Albert holds undergraduate degrees in Architecture and Environmental Design from the College of Architecture at the University of Houston and graduate degrees in Architecture and Urban Design from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at Columbia University and the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
